The Board of Trustees consists of seven members elected to serve, without compensation, for three years each. Elections are conducted in May every year. While candidates run for specific places, they do not represent specific geographical areas; rather, each represents Burleson ISD at large. Following the election, the board re-organizes to select a president, vice-president and secretary to serve for a one-year term.
